Here's how:

  1. Pick a session.
  2. Pick a class and time.
  3. Fill out the Registration Forms .
  4. Send in the Registration Forms two weeks before the session starts.

    *First time Obedience Handlers need to download Liability Package

Puppy Obedience Class (3-6 months old)
Offers advice on puppy rearing such as housebreaking, grooming, puppy socialization and basic obedience.

Puppy Advanced Obedience Class (for Puppy Class Graduates)

Owner learns how to communicate with adolescent puppy.

Beginner Obedience Class

Dog will learn to walk calmly on lead; sit/stay; lie down/stay; stand/stay; and sit/stay come on command.

Advanced Beginner Obedience Class

Builds on basics taught in Beginner Obedience. Heavy emphasis on heeling; sit/stay; lie down/stay; stand/stay; and sit/stay/come on command.

Novice

Class focus is on advanced aspects of obedience training for handler and dog. Proper form, position and footwork required for obedience competion is emphasized. They will also be introduced to and practice some Rally Obedience.

GCDOC INSTRUCTORS

GCDOC classes are taught by volunteer instructors, who are members of the club, have completed an instructor's class and have themselves successfully trained their own dog(s) through various obedience, conformation or agility titles.
